“We’ll believe it when we see it,” NDP calls for clear answers on the Eglinton LRT opening date

QUEEN’S PARK -- Ontario NDP Shadow Minister for Public Transit, MPP Doly Begum (Scarborough Southwest) is calling for real answers and transparency from the Government on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Following over a decade of construction and a billion dollars spent over budget, the Premier failed to provide a date when asked for the opening day of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

“The people of Ontario are tired of getting their hopes up only for another delay, another excuse. The very least the Government can do is give them real answers about when they can finally ride the LRT,” said Begum.

“The Premier said, ‘Thank God’ in relief as he made another loose promise today, but Ontarians are still holding their breath and are far from thanking anyone just yet as the Premier could not even provide an opening date. We’ll believe it when we see it.”
